Busted truck.
The Frontier has been suffering from a shot driveshaft support for awhile now. Friday the syncronizers for first gear decided to go out also. Now it will all get fixed.

Sorry to hear about the problems. At least you able to get it fixed, and still enjoy the truck.

A lot cheaper to fix than to buy a new one. I am trying to make a bad thing a good thing. It is trying to tell you it misses wheelin!

Yeah can get it fix but will take time because no $$. Reman trans costs $1500, then add in the cost of a clutch kit and a new one piece driveshaft, thats $2k easy. Plus right now I have no love for Nissan engineers. Replacing the tranny is a nightmare job to boot.
BUT after saying all of this I will sit back and still feel blessed. God blessed me with the abilities to fix it and I had just gotten a company vehicle to drive, to work, 2 weeks before all of this happened.

Truck update... if that's what you want to call it.
As it stands right now I have finally gotten a reman tranny. I have a friend/mechanic with a lift installing it hopefully this week. Junk yard tranny was a no go, all are junk or almost the same amount of $$ as a reman. The snafu with the reman was no one had one. I was to the point of having my old one shipped to a remanufacturer to rebuild because they could not get one to rebuild themselves. After a month or so they finally did get one, and now I have it. I also have to get the rear driveshaft to a machine shop to make me a one-piece shaft, that hopefully won't slow things down to much, but since this has been going on now since May or June, why should I be in a rush now? Also it seems that it was more than the syncronizers that were shot for first gear. First gear itself was destroyed. The Fronti will never see the trails again. It will be fixed and eventually sold.

Re: Busted truck.
You could do the repairs on the cheap and turn it into a trial only rig. Use the $$ saved on cheaper repairs for the down payment on a daily driver?
