Ok my sister in law has started her own business that will include running web sites and forums for people. Do you think this is something CC can benefit from? They would do everything including removal of spam and dealing with the glitches and hiccups we may have at any given time. The cost would be $20 a month. That includes all cost to the web site designing etc. Everything.

The funds in the clubs account ran empty a year ago so as of now everything has been paid by me. Its ok, I can continue to do so. We take it out of our spare funds. It's only $7 a month I thing for the web site we have now. But this site keeps having problems many of you don't see. For that reason we would switch to a new hosting site that may cost a little more but should be better.

If any of you would like to donate to the club at any time let me know.

So do you all want to hire my sister in law to run the site? Also includes whatever advertising she can find for us to get more persons to the site.

Did any of the above make sence to you all? Or was I just confusing?

I have been thinking about this, but have not reached a conclusion. With the club not being as active as it used to be, I wonder if the $20 per month is justifiable. I am not sure how much extra work is involved if you don't go that route.

$20 a month comes out to $240 a year and I don't think that expense can be justified at this time. There are too many things that kind of money can be put toward right now. Once the club is more active and is able to sustain that cost by itself, then yes. It's a great idea. But I would say not right now.

But I think if there are glitches, we should try to work those out. I've been doing some website work myself and would be glad to help you iron out any issues free of charge. Maybe it just requires a new module to run the forum? If you want to let me know what some of the issues are, I will be glad to look at them and see if we can fix them before considering paying someone else to do it. This would be a good time to do that, since there isn't a lot of content on the site at this point.

I've been playing around with a few things on my site and I think there might be some revenue-generating ideas this site could use. One is to become an affiliate store for some 4x4 sites. You post ads to their products on your site and when someone buys through clicking on those ads, your site earns a commission. That could pay for the hosting, possibly.

I think we should talk about the site issues some more and see if we can improve the site ourselves right now and position it to attract more people and earn a profit so that we can afford to turn it over to your relative without any out-of-pocket expense.

Ok so we are on the same page. I was thinking the same thing guys and I did discuss that with her. She understood. I needed to get you guys opinion since you are club members before taking any action. If we can get all of us togehter we need to have an official club meeting for the year.
